Free hike led at Spraddle Creek this Saturday

VAIL — Wilderness Workshop is hosting its final guided, free hike of the season Saturday into Spraddle Creek, a proposed addition to Eagle’s Nest Wilderness area. The Spraddle Creek proposal area is just north of the main Vail interchange. Organizers say hikers will experience one of the few roadless areas left within our valley and learn the value of protecting mid-elevation areas for wildlife habitat, water quality and as a legacy for future generations. “This area will protect the fragile headwaters of Spraddle and Middle creeks, which flow into Gore Creek right in Vail Village,” organizers said. “The region is …
