In a holiday-shortened week, investors seemed to shrug off their recent concerns about the state of the economy, driving the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average to their best weekly performances since November. Furthermore, the Nasdaq had its best week since July, though all three of the indexes remained down about 6 percent for the year to date.The yield on the 10-year Treasury, which has fallen sharply this year, was unchanged last week at 1.75 percent.
