Hello Partners and Friends!

With the final approval for COVID vaccination eligibility for 5-11-year-olds being approved on Tuesday evening, we wanted to reach out to our EOC partners and the broader community with some additional information about availability and upcoming clinic information.

We’ve been working to assess the resources in our community that will be providing vaccinations and to what age groups, as well as state-level resources that we can leverage. Below is a summary and we want to continue to direct people to eaglecountycovid.org for locations, schedules, as well as appointments. In addition, we are looking at setting specific clinic times for this new age group since not all vaccine providers in the community feel comfortable providing pediatric vaccinations.
When will vaccinations for 5-11-year-olds be available in Eagle County?

  • November 6 and every following Eagle County Public Health and Environment clinic. More details below.
  • It is possible that the State Mobile Clinic on Friday the 5th at Freedom Park may have pediatric doses available.
  • Other clinics who are providing pediatric vaccinations will likely be online next week.

What is the availability of the vaccine for 5-11-year-olds?

  • The dosage for this age group is much less than for adults.
  • The shipping and manufacturing is picking up pace but we should expect limited supplies initially.
  • Please in any communication that you send out, ask for patience as the vaccine slowly becomes more available.

Where can the covid shots for 5-11-year-olds be accessed?

  • City Market Pharmacies
  • Mountain Family Health Centers
  • Colorado Mountain Medical
  • Eagle County Public Health and Environment
  • State Mobile Clinics
  • MIRA in partnership with state

ECPHE Clinic Schedule – This schedule will remain in effect from Nov 6 – Dec 23. Due to the added complexity with the pediatric doses and the added time per appointment slot, we are separating age groups. This may change in the future, but please note the specific clinic times for only 5-11-year-olds.

  • Tuesdays/Eagle/Exhibit Hall from 1-3 (12 and up) and 3-7 (5-11 year olds only after 3)
  • Wednesdays/Eagle/Exhibit Hall from 10-1 (12 and up) and 3-6 (5-11 year olds only after 3)
  • Thursdays/Avon/Chapel Sq from 10-1 (12 and up) and 3-6 (5-11 year olds only after 3)
  • Saturdays/Avon/Chapel Sq from 9-12 (12 and up) and 1-4p (5-11 year olds only after 1)

State Mobile Clinic Schedules

  • Buses typically come into Eagle River Valley for three consecutive days (Fr, Sat, Sun)
  • Current locations are Freedom Park (F), Avon Elem (Sat), Eagle Valley HS (Sun)
  • These sites will run on Nov 5, 6, and 7
  • We are still working on next round of dates, as well as establishing locations in the Roaring Fork Valley in collaboration with Pitkin Co
  • The schedule is based on the state bus availability so scheduling is only confirmed about 2-3 weeks in advance

Kind Regards,
