Town series races underway

EAGLE — Steve Leigh broke a chain, Halsey Lucas vomited — twice — and Barry Parent crossed the finish line bleeding from the face. The Vail Recreation District mountain-bike town series races are officially underway. Approximately 250 riders took to the dusty trails off Arroyo Drive in Eagle Ranch on Wednesday for the Eagle Ranch Classic, the first of seven mountain bike races in the summer-long series.
