VAIL — A 23-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition at a Denver hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 70 in the early-morning hours Friday. The incident occurred in eastbound lane near mile marker 175 in Vail. According to police investigators, the pedestrian was on the roadway when he was struck by a Honda SUV traveling eastbound on the interstate. The driver and a passenger, Vail residents, stopped and called 911 to report the incident. The victim is an Australian citizen visiting on a visa.
