Firefighters respond to chimney blaze

GYPSUM — A chimney fire in Gypsum on Friday left a home damaged, At about 7:10 p.m., crews from Gypsum Fire Protection District were dispatched to the report of a fire at a single-family home on River View Road. Upon arrival, flames of about 4 to 6 feet in height were coming from the chimney area.The initial crew on scene reported the chimney stack was fully involved and flames had spread from the attic to the adjacent roof. The crew attacked the fire from the outside and waited for the arrival of an engine from Eagle before they could attack …
