Dead dog found trapped in a nylon kennel has police asking for help

WOLCOTT — A dog found dead in a nylon kennel by the Eagle River has police asking the public for clues.Police were notified about 2:30 p.m. Thursday about the dead dog, a male Staffordshire bull terrier, black with a white patch of fur on its front neck. It weighed about 70 pounds. The green nylon kennel in which the dog was trapped was found along the banks of the Eagle River between Eagle and Wolcott, under some bushes.Deputies with the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and Eagle County Animal Services found the dog and kennel when they arrived.
