Local freeskier seriously injured in national finals

EAGLE COUNTY — Locals are already rallying to help a young ski champion injured in a crash this week.Kailyn Forsberg finished second in Monday’s rail competition during the United States of America Snowboard and Free Skiing Nationals, held at Copper Mountain.She was seriously injured during Tuesday’s aerials, and was air-lifted from Copper Mountain to Children’s Hospital in Denver.The extent of her injuries was unknown. She was still in surgery at deadline.An account to help offset the family’s medical expenses has been established at First Bank.Kailyn is an Eagle Valley High School student, and the daughter of Mitch Forsberg, Gypsum Elementary …
