Devils, Huskies solid at Mickey Dunn Invitational

GRAND JUNCTION — Eagle Valley track and field took top Eagle County honors at Saturday’s Mickey Dunn Invitational.The Devils girls finished second, and the boys third. Palmer Ridge won both the boys and girls competitions.“We have seen the enemy and they are fast,” joked Devils coach Jeff Shroll.The usual people did the usual things for Eagle Valley in its opener. Carly Volkmer is still fast in the 400 meters. She won. Riley Rowles is still good at a lot of things, picking up points everywhere.But it was the newbies that impressed.
