Officer shoots man fleeing on I-70

Officers shot a man who had led them on a high-speed chase along Interstate 70 late Tuesday afternoon.They said he was armed when he jumped out of his vehicle at the Canyon Creek exit west of Glenwood Springs, turned toward officers and was shot. His condition was unknown early Tuesday evening after he was taken to Valley View Hospital.I-70 eastbound was closed and authorities said they expected it to remain closed until at least 9 p.m. as the Colorado Bureau of Investigation began examining the scene.
