Eagle Valley does the double at home meet

GYPSUM — Eagle Valley cross-country may have logged the earliest Senior Day in high school sports history on Saturday. It wasn’t the only thing the team picked up at their home meet. The Devils swept the competition at the Gypsum Creek Golf Course. “We had a great day,” Devils coach Melinda Brandt said. “We’re really excited to pull of the double win.” From 400 to 5,000 Carly Volkmer is best known for running the 400 meters during the spring, where she’s a state-placer and the school record holder (repeatedly) at that distance.
