A Vail man suffocated early Friday because a Jeep Wrangler that crashed wound up on top of him. Harold Waymond Adcock III, 30, “Tres” to his friends and colleagues, died of positional asphyxiation from a one-car crash in East Vail at about 2 a.m. Friday. “The position he was in underneath the Jeep caused him not to be able to breathe,” said Kara Bettis, Eagle County Coroner. Unfortunately, it’s a common cause of death in motor vehicle accidents, Bettis said.
