Man whose body was found in Carbondale ditch identified

Authorities have identified a man whose body was found Sunday evening in the Sopris Park ditch in Carbondale as 29-year-old Ryan Becvarik of Carbondale.According to Garfield County Coroner Rob Glassmire, the initial investigation into Becvarik’s death indicates that it was an accidental drowning, although the exact cause and manner remained under investigation, he said in a news release.An autopsy performed Monday revealed no trauma or suspicious circumstances, Glassmire said.The circumstances as to why Becvarik was in the water were not known, and anyone who may have seen him prior to his death is asked to contact the coroner’s office at …
