EAGLE — A cyclocross race will wrap up the Vail Recreation District’s summer bicycling race offerings on Wednesday at the Eagle County Fairgrounds. The race will begin at 5 p.m. and allow local mountain bikers ages 10 and older one last chance to race in the Vail Valley this fall. Cyclocross is a challenging sport that combines trail riding with many other skills and consists of many laps, approximately 1.5 to 2 miles each, on a course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles.
