Vail Recreation District’s summer bike racing season starts with the kids! The Yeti’s Grind Youth Mountain Bike Series begins on Tue, June 23, and
Wed, June 24 with the Minturn Mini. This fun and fast kids-only race allow our youth riders ages five to 17 to be the stars!
This is the first race in the East West Hospitality Mountain Bike Race Series presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Bloch & Chapleau Attorneys at Law.
Races take place over two days to adhere to Eagle County gathering size protocols.

These races will take place on the Minturn Mini Mile circuit course with racers biking in a counter-clockwise direction. Distances range from two to six miles depending on the category. All racers must be preregistered.
Participants will be required to wear face masks when registering/picking up their bibs. Onsite bib pickup begins at 3:45 p.m. and races start at 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.

For the Minturn Mini, all boys’ categories race on Tuesday and girls’ categories race on Wednesday.
Parking will be available at the Little Beach Amphitheater as directed by the event staff. To respect social distancing protocols, this year youth racers are limited to one parent per racer to ensure that the maximum gathering limit is not exceeded.
Social distancing guidelines of six feet between individuals will be strictly enforced for racers and spectators.

The Minturn Mini Youth Race is presented by the Town of Minturn, and Venture Sports is the official bike shop of the Minturn Mini.
At this time, races will not include an after-party or award ceremony. However, raffle winners will be drawn during the race and winners can pick up prizes upon completion of the race, before exiting the venue. Race results will be posted online and prizes for the top three finishers in each category will be mailed.
Individual races for youth are $12 preregistered; the series cost for youth is $70.
Registration is available online at vailrec.com/register and preregistration for individual races ends at 5 p.m. one day prior to each race day.
All youth riders are welcome and racers do not need to be registered in the full series to participate in this race.
