“Cookies in the Clouds,” a high-altitude baking book, is one of five finalists for Best General Non-Fiction Writing of 2015, an award bestowed by the Colorado Authors’ League. The book is authored by Vera Dawson, Vail Daily’s high-altitude baking columnist and culinary instructor. The hardback book, divided into three sections, features proven recipes with easy-to-follow, step-by-step directions, valuable tips for baking at high altitudes and recommendations about ingredients and equipment.
