Summit County coroner rules North Pond drowning as suicide, IDs body

The Summit County Coroner has positively identified the person who drowned at North Pond in Silverthorne after throwing himself off a paddleboard on Sunday, July 17.Coroner Regan Wood confirmed Wednesday afternoon what the Silverthorne Police Department and its partner law enforcement agencies had suspected, that it was 55-year-old Wildernest resident Scot A. McChesney. The cause and manner of death is listed as suicide caused by drowning.On Tuesday, authorities named McChesney in a detailed press release.
