Fire district still reeling from revenue drop

GYPSUM — The Vail Valley’s largest fire protection district is also its most poorly funded. That’s why residents and officials hope voters approve a proposed property tax increase for the Gypsum Fire Protection District on May 3.This is the third time in as many years that the district — a separate entity from the town of Gypsum — has asked voters for a tax-rate increase.
