GYPSUM — Beginning late this afternoon, the Eagle County Airport runway was closed down for several hours after a plane blew a tire while landing. According to Eagle County Airport Manager Greg Phillips, a small, private plane landed and blew out a tire on the runway. There were no injuries and no other damage to the plane. However, the plane blocked the runway into the evening while crews worked to repair the tire and move the plane.
