First-grader seriously injured during Eagle Valley Homecoming parade

GYPSUM — A first-grader from Brush Creek Elementary School was seriously injured during the Eagle Valley High School Homecoming parade Wednesday.In a letter sent Thursday to EVHS families, Eagle County Schools Superintendent Jason Glass said Christopher Garcia fell beneath the wheels of one of the trailers in the parade.“He is the nephew of a student at EVHS and has several cousins attending our schools,” Glass said. “He sustained multiple injuries to the left side of his body.
