VAIL — There’s a lot to appreciate about the Colorado Grand, particularly the $4.5 million or so the annual event has raised for charity and scholarships. But to a dedicated gearhead, the most special thing is the fact these cars are driven.Like they do every year, the Colorado Grand set out from Vail Sept. 13 and returned Friday. In between, the cars, drivers, mechanics and other members of the rolling cavalcade drove about 1,000 miles through the Colorado High Country. They did this in cars built before 1960.
