MINTURN — White River National Forest officials have announced that slash pile grinding operations will begin on the previously completed West Grouse Creek Salvage Timber Sale. This project will grind piled, woody material, such as limbs and stumps, left over from the logging operations that began in 2011. “We’re excited to continue grinding operations and are hopeful that all remaining piles will be removed before the snow flies,” District Ranger Aaron Mayville said. “Also, we’re happy that the piled material from the West Grouse Creek project will be sent to the Gypsum Biomass Plant, which will contribute to local electricity …
