Walking Mountains Science Center and Vail Recreation District offer fall color hikes

Walking Mountains Science Center traveled more than 300 miles showcasing the amazing local forests and trail systems to hundreds of visitors this summer. Guides had so much fun exploring with locals and visitors, they decided to extend their backcountry-hiking program through October.“It was an easy decision to extend our hiking season,” said Peter Suneson, community outreach coordinator at Walking Mountains Science Center. “With the growing demand for hiking in Vail, we wanted more visitors and locals to experience our national forest and the impressive aspen landscapes that are so brilliant this time of year.”This fall, certified interpretive guides from Walking …
