Dispatcher helps deliver baby on I-70 near Dotsero

VAIL — Vail Public Safety Communications Supervisor Tina Mojzer Friday morning took a call from a man whose wife was in labor. The couple was attempting to drive to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs when it became apparent that the baby was arriving more quickly than planned, and they pulled over near Dotsero on Interstate 70.Using the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch protocol, Mojzer talked the caller through childbirth instructions. Together, Mojzer and the father were able to assist the mother successfully deliver a baby boy, the couple’s second child, prior to the arrival of Eagle County Paramedics, Gypsum …
