Gas line break closes Homestead street two hours

EDWARDS — A construction crew hit a residential gas line, closing a street through a Homestead neighborhood Monday afternoon for two hours.The roads were reopened by 4 p.m.Ewing Construction is building a home in that neighborhood, and a crew doing some excavation snapped a 3-inch line, said Tracy LeClair, public information office for the Eagle River Fire Protection District.The gas leak closed a few blocks of Edwards Boulevard from Homestead to Miele Lane.Parents with children in Edwards Elementary School were asked to take Highway 6 to Lake Creek Road to access the school.The break happened about 2 p.m. Monday, not …
