Eagle sales tax receipts seeing growth

EAGLE — The final numbers are in and 2015 was definitely a good sales tax year in Eagle.Last year Eagle collected $3,336,796 in sales tax — a 12.4 percent gain. That’s the first double-digit increase marking an important threshold — Eagle’s sales tax collections have finally exceeded pre-Great Recession levels.For five years, the town has seen some growth in sales tax, with the exception of 2014, with a small decrease. The 2015 numbers show that the Market Street area — which includes the City Market grocery store — remains the biggest sales tax generator for Eagle. That area contributed 42 …
