EAGLE COUNTY — Eagle County Treasurer and Public Trustee Mari Renzelman has announced her intentions to run for Eagle County Treasurer on November’s ballot. After the retirement of longtime Treasurer Karen Sheaffer, Renzelman, a Republican, was appointed by the Eagle County commissioners in January to perform the duties until the next general election. The candidate elected will serve the remainder of Sheaffer’s term, which ends in December 2018. Current Eagle County Clerk and Recorder Teak Simonton, a Democrat, recently announced she is also seeking the treasurer’s position.
