Saints go off in second quarter, pound Nederland

NEDERLAND — One of Vail Christian football’s goals was to be a bit more explosive offensively when it line up against Nederland.We will assume that scoring 46 points in the second quarter fulfills that requirement as Vail Christian went on to win their Central League opener at Nederland, 66-18, on Saturday.And to think, this game started rather tamely with the Saints leading 6-0 after the first quarter on an Alex Davis touchdown run.Then the Saints got going.Quarterback Logan Raitt called his own number for a 2-yard run and 14-0 lead. Logan and Davis connected for 62 yards and a score. …
