HOTCHKISS — Eagle Valley cross-country got its first win of the year on Saturday as its girls won the Hotchkiss Invitational with 44 points, far out-pacing Fruita Monument (84).The boys finished third out of 11 teams as well.“The girls wanted to pack it in this week,” Devils coach Melinda Brandt said. “Our goal wasn’t necessarily to win. But by packing it in, we did win the meet. We’re happy with how the ladies performed.
