Firefighters quickly control Avon apartment blaze

AVON — Firefighters contained a blaze to a single apartment late Thursday, leaving one man with potential burn injuries.They got a call that a second floor apartment in Avon’s Bristol Pines complex was on fire.The building was evacuated and by 10 p.m. the fire was extinguished, said Tracy LeClair, public information officer with the Eagle River Fire Protection District.The male victim was transported to the Vail Valley Medical Center. There were no other injuries, LeClair said.Emergency personnel responded from Eagle County Ambulance, Eagle River Fire Protection District, the Vail Fire Department, the Avon Police Department, and the Salvation Army.The cause …
