Rafter dies on Colorado River near Grizzly Creek

GLENWOOD SPRINGS — A man died Saturday after falling from a raft into the Colorado River in Glenwood Canyon, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said.A news release said Garfield County deputies responded to a call at 12:38 p.m. from a person who reported that a man had fallen from the raft east of the Grizzly Creek Rest area. The raft had been carrying two males and a female. The two people remaining in the raft were able to pull the man back in and began CPR while still in the raft.
