DENVER — Eagle Valley track and field is happy and sad at the same time after Day 1 on Thursday of the 4A state track meet at Jeffco Stadium in Denver.And that’s OK.Riley Rowles finished third in the high jump, while Miles Petterson was eighth in the pole vault, both great finishes for the Devils. At the same time, it’s the end of athletic careers for those two seniors.“That’s awesome,” Eagle Valley coach Jeff Shroll said. “It’s always bittersweet watching seniors compete in their final events.
