Ski down, party slated to honor Tony Seibert

VAIL — Of course there’s a party for Tony Seibert and his friends. It’s Friday. Seibert died a year ago when he was caught in an avalanche in East Vail Chutes. His celebration of life a few days later was exactly that. This will be, too. The gathering begins at the top of Chair 4 on Vail Mountain around 3 p.m. At 4 p.m., there’s a ski down, by way of Riva Ridge, the run named in honor of the 10th Mountain Division in which Tony’s grandfather and Vail founder Pete Seibert served.
