BEAVER CREEK — The first sign was that American Ted Ligety came down in green numbers. Ligety has had some notable speed results during his career — Olympic gold in the combined in the 2006 Olympics and super-G at the 2013 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming, Austria — but that was fast for the giant-slalom champ.
