VAIL — The valley’s construction industry continues to recover from the slump that began in 2009, but a part of the business that developed during the dark days continues to be important. David Hyde is the president of Shaeffer Hyde Construction, a company with 35 years in the local industry. Hyde said recently that remodeling jobs account for as much as 40 percent of his company’s business these days. And those projects can keep general contractors and other companies working hard.
