VAIL — A Vail Veterans Program alumni has ascended mountains and now has ascended to the nation’s highest military honor. Kyle Carpenter was awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism in Afghanistan. “I know that whatever comes, really I just want to use (my Medal of Honor) to make a positive impact on people’s lives — help people and just try to make my community and hopefully the world better …” Carpenter said.
