VAIL — Housing here has always been a problem. Now, Vail’s planning staff and members of the town’s housing authority think they have a way to fundamentally change the town’s approach.The Vail Town Council at its Sept. 6 meeting will get its first in-depth look at a comprehensive housing plan called “Vail Housing 2027.” That plan sets a bold goal: adding 1,000 units of deed-restricted housing to the town’s inventory in the next decade.There’s no way to build that many units.
