Crews break ground on new fire/police facility in Avon

AVON — The Eagle River Fire and Protection District broke ground last week on their new, $11 million facility on Buck Creek Road. The facility will be one half of a joint public safety facility that will also house Avon’s police department, and is expected to open in late 2017. Davis Partnership is the architect and construction is being handled by local contractors Evans Chaffee.The facility will be able to house the fire district’s ladder truck, and meet all staffing, equipment, storage and operational needs for the next 50 years and beyond by providing quick access to Avon town core, …
