EAGLE COUNTY — Avon will be showcased as a host venue of the inaugural Mavic Haute Route Rockies, set to take place in June of next year.The event is the first U.S. edition of what has been called the world’s highest, toughest and most prestigious amateur cycling challenge. It will start in Boulder and end in Colorado Springs, with a two-night stop in Avon as the town hosts a time trial and the start of the fifth stage.
