Summer Science Camp comes to Vail Public Library with a new teacher

VAIL — Summer Science Camp returns to the Vail Public Library, Monday, Aug. 1, through Wednesday, Aug. 3, with a new teacher, Nanette Dietrich, Ph.D., associate professor at Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania.This year’s free, three-day, hands-on science program for ages 9 through 12 is titled Model My Watershed. Everyone lives in a watershed, and children are invited to come learn about theirs. Campers will be exploring the local stream, Gore Creek, and using scientifically valid and easy-to-use watershed tools to accurately examine the neighborhood, define local environmental challenges and develop solutions.Dietrich and her family are repeat summer visitors to …
