Gastro-bug hits Vail area dogs

GYPSUM — A Gypsum veterinarian office says that local dog owners should be aware of a gastrointestinal bug that is rapidly sickening dogs. The disease symptoms of vomiting and bloody watery diarrhea appear very suddenly and strongly.“These pups are very sick. Often even just smelling food causes them to vomit” said Dr. Stephen Sheldon of Gypsum Animal Hospital. “They also appear to be in a lot of pain for just a run of the mill GI gug.” The good news is that for most patients, symptoms abate almost as quickly as they begin. “Fortunately, we have not lost any patients, …
