Walking Mountains Science Center, Vail Recreation District extend hiking season

The summer is waning, but the cooler mornings make for crisp air and bright colors. Join guides from the Vail Nature Center, operated by Walking Mountains Science Center, as they take hikers on tours of the Eagle Valley’s prime fall color locations. On Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout October, hikers can be picked up throughout the Vail area and led on guided tours, where they learn about the local ecology and history of the Eagle Valley. The summer hiking season, running through the end of September, will continue to offer full-day hikes on Tuesdays and Fridays and half-day excursions on Saturdays …
