VMS, Devils golf kicking it into gear with regionals 10 days away

KEYSTONE — Would the local golf teams please pick on someone their own size.Vail Mountain School and Eagle Valley sparkled on Thursday at the Keystone Ranch course against Front Range competition.Class 3A VMS finished in fourth place with 246 strokes, behind only 4A Mullen (226), 5A Fairview (233) and 3A arch-nemesis Aspen (245).Class 4A Eagle Valley tied for sixth with 5A Legacy at 252 strokes, just behind other 5As Regis and Smoky Hill.The Gore Rangers and Devils were second in their respective classes on Thursday, which should give them the confidence that they can compete with anyone come regionals, which …
