Foundations raising money for injured trooper

EAGLE COUNTY — The Slifer Smith & Frampton Foundation has offered to match dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 to help local charities through their Live Local & Give Local Summer Match Madness. The Vail Valley Charitable Fund recently gave a grant to local Colorado State Patrol Trooper, Eugene Hofacker, to help with medical bills after being shot by a convicted felon on the side of Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon on May 8, 2014.
