March is National Colon Cancer Awareness Month, but how much do you really want to be aware of your colon? Answer: Enough to keep it cancer free. Colon cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable, and men and women over age 50 are encouraged to get a colonoscopy every 10 years to find polyps — benign, or noncancerous, clumps of cells — before they become cancerous.
