Middle school earns Governor’s award

EAGLE – A local middle school is among Colorado’s best academic achievers for the fourth straight year. Eagle Valley Middle School won another Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. The award is based largely on the state’s standardized testing, and EVMS scores have improved markedly for each of the last four years. “We are very proud to receive this award again, because this means that kids are showing exceptional growth on their TCAP scores,” said Catherine Jarnot, EVMS principal. “Eagle Valley Middle School students are exceeding expectations for growth in reading, writing and math.” The school has improved year after year across …
