Breckenridge police charge 24-year-old in hit-and-run that left woman seriously injured

EAGLE COUNTY — A Summit County resident was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 30, in connection with a hit-and-run four days earlier. Hallie Southall Schmitt, 24, faces charges of failing to remain at the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury, a class 4 felony, vehicular assault, a class 5 felony, and failure to report an accident, a class 1 misdemeanor. She was booked into the Summit County jail on $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court for an advisory hearing Wednesday, Dec. 31.
