Early morning fire torches tanker truck near Gypsum

EAGLE — A tanker truck carrying jet fuel to the airport didn’t make it when it caught fire early this morning. The driver of the Kicker Energy Truck was hauling 7,000 gallons of jet fuel when the right front wheel came off, according to a report from the Greater Eagle Fire Protection District. Flames shot high into the early morning sky when the truck caught fire, firefighters said.
