Local golfers making moves at Steamboat

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — If one believes in reading the tea leaves, there were some very good signs for Vail Mountain, Vail Christian and Eagle Valley golf on Thursday up at the Haymaker Golf Course in Steamboat Springs. The host Sailors won the event with 224 strokes, which is of no concern to the Gore Rangers, who were second at 253. VMS was the top 3A school at the event as everyone edges closer to the regional tourney down in Durango on Sept. 16.
